Delicious meals for online food delivery in Haparanda

People who live on the easternmost point of mainland Sweden can now enjoy the luxury that is online food deliveries! This far north, Sweden borders Finland, so Haparanda is characterised by its strategic trading position. The River Torne separates the centre of Haparanda and the Finnish town of Torneå, and it's from the river that the beautiful bay, Stadsviken, opens up into the city. There's a lot of construction work going on here, although the main built-up area is located slightly further south, where the river runs into the Gulf of Bothnia. For those who live in this historic town, it's great news that you now can order meals from the online menu and have your dinner delivered to your home. This is particularly practical in winter, when most of us prefer to stay indoors, and not go out grocery shopping or to pick up a takeaway.

Haparanda village was originally part of Torneå

Already in the Middle Ages, the city of Torneå, which today borders Haparanda, was the most important and well-known market town in the North Calotte. Torneå was founded in 1621 and belonged to Sweden until the Finnish Winter War in 1809, when the new border was established along the river and straight through the city of Torneå. Only seven farms remained on the Swedish side, but it was from these farms that Haparanda would later develop into an important landmark on the Swedish map.

Exciting architecture and a charming archipelago

As well as an exciting history, Haparanda has many beautiful places to visit. In its surrounding area, for example, there's a national park in the archipelago outside Haparanda, a place that radiates harmony and tranquillity. The church and the water tower are two buildings with exciting and distinctive architectural styles, and the town has a rich cultural life with inhabitants from a range of different backgrounds. Folkets Hus (the Peoples House), which was founded in 1942, is a popular venue for conferences and dance and theatre performances. Adjacent to Folkets Hus, you’ll find Haparanda's cinema.
